Department Activity
The department along with other science departments of the college organized “SCIENCE VISTA”- an intercollegiate Science fest for PU students of 10 different colleges on August 10, 2017.
Organized a guest lecture by Sri. Seetharam Shetty on the topic ‘Importance of medicinal plants at Kodyamale reserve forest, karinja’.
Students of Botany department spoke on various topics related to the High school syllabus to the students of Govt high school kavalakatte, SVS Kannada medium, temple school and SVS English medium Vidyagiri
The botany laboratory is being utilized during vacation for conducting distance Education botany practical classes for students under Kuvempu University.
Mandatory plant collection by the students to strengthen their knowledge about the local flora.

Attended a lake 2016 pre conference workshop along with 6 students. The program was sponsored by Indian Institute of science and Alva’s College.
Presented a poster at the National conference on ‘Ethno science – Implications and its applications’ by Mr. Madhuranjan of final CBZ organized at Nehru Memorial College, Sullia.
Attended a workshop on new syllabus organized jointly by Mangalore University Botany Teacher’s Association and St. Agnes College, Mangalore.
Conducted an UGC sponsored one day workshop on Science curriculum for high school teachers.
